The Jana Sena Party leaders and cadre are on cloud nine over the upcoming plenary of the party scheduled to be held on March 14, its foundation day.
Since the party is celebrating the event for the first time after coming to power along with the other two alliance partners, the expectations are too high.
In fact, the party has been celebrating its foundation day every year but this is for the first time that it is holding its plenary session. As the Jana Sena Party is in power, it holds a lot of significance.
The party leadership has announced that it would be a three-day session and there would be a lot of discussions on various issues and several resolutions would be passed.
Jana Sena Party president and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan said the plenary would discuss a road map for the coming years.
In fact, preparations for the plenary session in Pithapuram, the constituency where Pawan Kalyan won for the first time, began a month ago. Fourteen committees were formed to ensure the event’s success.
Minister Nadendla Manohar has been visiting Pithapuram regularly to coordinate with local Jana Sena leaders and provide guidance on the plenary.
This has raised a lot of speculations on whether Pawan Kalyan would announce his future plans of bringing the party to power on its own in the coming years.
However, sources said Pawan Kalyan has suddenly changed his plan and the party’s plenary would be held only for one day on March 14, rather than three days.
This has sparked discussions among Jana Sena supporters and political circles, though the party has not made an official announcement regarding the change yet.
However, Jana Sena leaders such as ministers Nadendla Manohar and Kandula Durgesh have recently started referring to the event as the “March 14 Plenary,” confirming that it will now be a one-day affair.
According to sources, Pawan Kalyan wanted the plenary to be a low-key one-day affair for various reasons.
One is the ongoing assembly sessions, which will continue until March 19. Holding a three-day plenary with major political speeches in the middle of the session might not be ideal.
Secondly, Pawan Kalyan is reportedly suffering from severe back pain, making it difficult for him to participate in an extended three-day event. Apparently, doctors have advised him not to take strain during the course of treatment.
If the change of plan is true, it will be a big disappointment for the Jana Sena Party cadre, sources said.
