Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his Andhra Pradesh counterpart Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy might be staunch opponents of the Telugu Desam Party founded by legendary actor and former chief minister late N T Rama Rao.
But both Jagan and KCR would definitely have the blessings of the departed leader, says NTR’s widow and presently YSR Congress party leader Nandamuri Lakshmi Parvathi.
After paying floral tributes to her late husband at NTR Ghat in Hyderabad on the occasion of his birth anniversary, Lakshmi Parvathi said NTR’s blessings would always be there for those who fulfilled his aspirations of serving the poor and restoring the Telugu pride.
“It is fortunate that both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana now have the chief ministers who are the real followers of NTR. Both Jagan and KCR have been fulfilling the ideals of NTR,” the chairperson of Andhra Pradesh Telugu Academy said.
While Jagan has been striving to realise the dreams of NTR and Y S Rajasekhar Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, KCR has been safeguarding the interests of Telangana people and earned a place in their hearts, she said.
“I am sure both Jagan and KCR have the blessings of N T Rama Rao,” she said.
Interestingly, it was only in January this year that Lakshmi Parvathi had criticised the KCR government for neglecting NTR Samadhi on the banks of Hussain Sagar. The place was totally untidy and had not been cleaned when she came there to pay homage to NTR on his death anniversary.
