Is NTR the only leader in the eyes of TDP? Why did TDP fail to restore the statue of the legend Kakani Venkataratnam, a Gandhian, Freedom Fighter and Pioneer of Jai Andhra movement which they removed during their tenure at Benz Circle?
Statue of the Minister of Dairy and Agriculture, and famously known as Ukku Kakani, late Kakani Venkatratnam and many such leaders across the state were removed citing some reasons. It was despised by all the followers of the Kakani family across the state then. No action was taken till date.
But now, the TD party and its family legions and cadre are making hullabaloo over the removal of the NTR statue at Kavali. This attitude is not right. All leaders should be given their due respect.
Matter of fact, this has stopped the growth of other leaders from the same community and was projected in such a way that there is no other god than NTR for that community which he hails from. Hardworking and self made people belonging to the same community are now sulking that their own identity is being forcefully seen as inferior to Nara or Nandamuri families.
It is due to the same reason of suppressing the mass movement leaders locally, the party couldn’t generate regional leadership from mass movement leaders unlike in Telangana state. The TDP has nurtured a strong nepotistic culture and entertained only Nara and Nandamuri family members and their loyalists.
With CBNs era coming to an end, and Lokesh showing no signs of demonstrating leadership, the party will be headed for a natural death as there is no grooming of leaders with intellectual thinking, public service, good communication skills , social influence etc.
It was evident that in the previous election of 2019, not a single fresh young person was introduced out of 175 assembly segments. The only 13-17 replacements made were all sons or daughters of sitting MLAs. Ironically, not even one MLA won with family legacy.
