On Tuesday, without naming the project, Prasanth Varma announced on social media that "Simba is on his way."
The hashtag "Simba" appears to be referring to Mokshagna, as Balakrishna is known as 'Simha'. However, Balakrishna's followers have urged him not to use such a title. Mokshagna will play a small role in this film, which combines mythology and fantasy.
Balakrishna will also have a minor role.
The film will be produced by Balakrishna's daughter, Tejaswini, and is set to be released in theaters in 2025.
The story will take place in Prasanth Varma's Cinematic Universe, similar to the director's last blockbuster, HanuMan.
