Indraganti Mohana Krishna is known as a filmmaker who tries to make meaningful films rather than going after format films. Ahead of the release of 'V' he gave an interview.
When he was asked about the concept of 'V', he said if he reveals the concept it is just like revealing the story of the film. He added that he would like to say that 'V' is a mystery action drama. He said it is a tussle between a sincere police officer and a serial killer who is a psychopath, what led them to those situations and how they resolved them.
When he was asked about the focus being more on Nani and it is being less on Sudheer Babu, he said that sometimes we can't avoid such situations. It is 25th film of Nani, it is his third film with Nani, it is third film of Dil Raju with Nani, the movie is releasing on September 5, that happens to be the release date of 'Ashta Chamma', so the focus will be more on Nani.
But he said that audiences are going to witness Sudheer Babu's potential in the movie. He also added that 'V' will be an example that will show how we are under utilizing the potential of Sudheer Babu. He said that it is a very balanced story between Nani and Sudheer characters.
Indraganti said that when he narrated the story to Nani, he asked which of the lead characters he should choose? When Indraganti told him that the villain character suits him better, he was excited and he too felt the same. Indraganti went on to say that Nani is never scared to take risks. He always looks at the aspect whether his character is challenging for him or not.
I wrote the story in 2006. I had planned to make this film after Grahanam. As I didn't get the right budget, technology and actors I kept it aside. When Dil Raju asked me to tell a story in 2018 after 'Sammohanam', I pitched him this story. He liked the story immediately. I made some changes to the story as the movie story was penned in 2006.
When he was asked whether he had planned the movie with Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu, he said 'no'. He said that when people asked him if this story is suitable for this generation stars Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu, he said yes. It was a hypothetical question and a casual answer. He clarified that he didn't write the story keeping Pawan, Mahesh in his mind.
He reiterated that no other heroes in Telugu industry can deliver better performances for these two characters better than Nani and Sudheer. He said others might match them in acting but in his opinion, others can't beat their performances. He said that they are the best cast for V.
Talking about the producer Dil Raju he said that he is very happy with the output and the commercial result(as the movie is sold to Amazon for a profitable deal).
When he was asked about the inspiration behind 'V', he said that a couple of incidents happened in Hyderabad inspired him to write this story. He said that he will talk about them after the release.
