Director Anil Ravipudi came out of his comfort zone and changed the style for Balakrishna’s Bhagavanth Kesari.
Produced by Shine Screens, the movie which created a strong buzz with its teaser, trailer, and songs is up for release on the 19th of this month.
Anil Ravipudi in his exclusive interview with us informs that he wanted to narrate an honest story with rooted characters and deep emotions.
“Bhagavanth Kesari is an emotional journey. I had taken extra responsibilities for the movie. You’ll definitely see the new Balayya in the movie. Father-daughter emotion is the current trend. But I wrote the basic story, a year ago.”
The director says he’s grateful to Balakrishna for accepting to do the movie which is not a regular commercial potboiler.
“I wanted to present Balakrishna in a character of his age. He is the best at enacting emotional scenes. In fact, most of Balakrishna’s movies that were high on emotions ended up as classics. Besides emotions, the movie will have all the ingredients one would expect in a Balakrishna starrer. It will have some magical moments too. I can’t say it's a flashback, but the cut-back episode of 15 minutes will be a highlight. We shot the portions in the end.”
Anil Ravipudi defends S Thaman saying, “Thaman is a cinema lover who always tries to give his best. He gives music, as per the requirement and capacity of the story. He just completed re-recording for 4th reel, and the interval episode will give goosebumps for sure.”
He affirms the movie doesn’t have space for songs. “We didn’t want to include songs forcefully.
“We wanted to make the movie in a realistic manner. There is a situational song in the movie. However, we will release it for Dussehra. So, the song will be there from the second week.”
Anil Ravipudi informs that a glimpse of NBK and Kajal will be released soon.
