'Indian 2' box office: Huge Drop On Day 2

The vigilante action thriller starring Kamal Haasan was released in teatres on July 12.

Directed by Shankar, Indian 2' is the sequel to the 1996 cult classic drama and the film on day 1 of its release received mixed reviews from audience.

It managed to gross Rs 26 crore in India on day 1 of its release and $1 million in North America.

According to Sacnilk reports, the film on day 2 has grossed Rs 16 crore at the box office, showing a dip of 40% from day 1 collection.

'Indian 2' received bith positive and negative reviews from fans and audeince and many took to social media to state that they were disappointed with the film's sequel.

The Kamala Haasan starrer has now made Rs 42 crore at the box office and it clashed at the theatres with Sudha Kongara's 'Sarfira' in Hindi starring Akshay Kumar.

The film is a remake of the Tamil film 'Soorarai Pottru' and did not find many takers and managed to gross only Rs 7 crore at the box office.

'Indian 2' features Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, Bobby Simha, Priya Bhavani Shankar, Samuthirakani, SJ Suryah, Vivek, Nedumudi Venu, Manobala, Guru Somasundaram, Jagan among others and the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

The makers have also revealed that the film has a part 3 and it will have Kajal Aggarwal playing the lead and the film 'Indian 3' is set for its release in theatres in January 2025.
