Sankranthiki Vasthunnam has emerged as the true blockbuster of the season, recovering more than double its production budget.
The film has already broken multiple records and is expected to become one of the all-time highest grossers.
Director Anil Ravipudi shared his excitement, stating, “Films that offer entertainment will always be appreciated. They have a great pull, and I’m thrilled to see family audiences returning to theatres in large numbers after such a long time."
The movie’s strategy of keeping ticket prices at normal rates has contributed to its success, helping it attract repeat viewers.
The director explained, “This strategy works well for films with a moderate budget, but it wouldn't be feasible for high-budget movies.”
Commenting on the recent IT raids involving producer Dil Raju, Anil Ravipudi emphasized the resilience of the team, stating, “Despite facing such challenges, Dil Raju is determined to continue the promotional activities without any hindrance.”
Anil Ravipudi confirmed that a sequel is in the works, stating, “Yes, the sequel is on the cards. Given the success of the first film, I’m committed to making the sequel even more entertaining and thrilling.”
Hero Venkatesh expressed his admiration for Anil Ravipudi, recalling his early days as a writer.
“I’ve always admired Anil Ravipudi's energy. There’s such a positive vibe throughout the making of Sankranthiki Vasthunnam, and I thoroughly enjoyed the promotional activities as well.”
Venkatesh also shared his stance on remuneration, emphasizing his integrity in financial matters.
“I take my remuneration only in white. I’m happy with whatever comes my way. I consider everything beyond that as a bonus.”
With a gross collection of 230 crore+ already, Sankranthiki Vasthunnam is expected to reach Rs 300 crore by the end of its run.
