Actress Shriya Saran will next be seen in an anthology film Gamanam. Directed by Sujana Rao, the film is up for release on December 10th.
Shriya affirms she had tears in her eyes, after she heard the story.
“I felt this film meant something for me. It has emotions meant something for me. It was a journey of three characters.”
Although she worked with female directors earlier for a Bollywood and a sandalwood movie, Gamanam is her first Telugu film with a woman director.
“I don’t see much difference working with a male and female director. Of late, many female technicians are coming to industry.
Gamanam was written by Sujana herself. She has a connectivity with the character. She knows the characters really well.”
About her character in the film, Shriya informs, “The character Kamala I played in Gamanam was challenging because she cannot hear, though she can talk. This film is more about a woman who’s helpless, but she takes the journey forward.”
The actress says the film is about each character finding themselves, in their journey.
"When you feel I can’t do anything, we will have those moments. Suddenly, somewhere you get that strength and then you are like I can. I think Gamanam is about that.”
Shriya is also part of SS Rajamouli’s Pan India project RRR which is coming for Sankranthi.
