“Vakeel Saab” which marks the comeback of Pawan Kalyan to Telugu cinema after a gap of three years had its pre-release event on Sunday night in Hyderabad.
Pawan Kalyan who generally doesn’t speak much at film functions spoke for nearly 45 minutes.
Pawan Kalyan revealed that he had put in extra effort for this movie, in his action and in delivering the dialogues.
“I always work with dedication but this movie needed extra effort from me for various reasons,” he said.
When his fans shouted “CM CM”, he termed that he would not become Chief Minister just because he plans. “It has to happen naturally. I work for the society, not for the positions,” he clarified.
Talking about “Vakeel Saab”, Pawan Kalyan said he feels fortunate to reprise Amitabh Bachchan’s role.
“I am a great fan of Amitabh Bachchan since my childhood. When I watched Pink, I liked it and loved Amitabh’s performance but it never occurred to my mind to do the same role in Telugu. I feel fortunate to do his role,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan also clarified why he has returned to films.
“Unlike them (regular politicians), I don’t have cement factories or gambling activity. I never run away from the film industry. Nor do I take up film projects for the sake of money. I will work with the directors who like me, take up stories that I like,” he mentioned.
He refused to mouth a dialogue from the film.
Pawan Kalyan also praised Dil Raju and director Sriram. Interestingly, he also heaped praise for the talent of Prakash Raj.
“He may differ with me politically but I always respect him as an actor. He is great acting talent,” Pawan Kalyan said.
“I am proud fan of Pawan Kalyan. Every moment I have spent on the sets of this film, each moment I have interacted with Pawan Kalyan is precious. I am indebted to Pawan Kalyan forever,” director Sriram Venu said.
Producer Dil Raju recalled how the project fell through.
“It is a two-decade-long dream to make a film with Pawan Kalyan. I am thankful to the makers of Pink, Ajith, Boney Kapoor, Harish Shankar, and director Trivikram. Because of them, I have got the chance to make this movie with Pawan Kalyan. All I can say, I will cherish the two things that Pawan Kalyan told me at the end of the shoot,” Dil Raju went on.
Bandla Ganesh in the usual style had done ‘bhajana’.
