'Guntur Kaaram' has been released and is facing widespread criticism. Earlier, before the release, there were rumors that it was adapted from Yaddanapudi's novel 'Keerthi Kireetalu,' which finally turned out to be false.
Now, netizens suggest the storyline is inspired by the ongoing narrative involving Jr NTR and Nara Lokesh regarding TDP's future leadership.
A netizen wrote, "Guntur Kaaram is inspired by Jr NTR and Lokesh's storyline. In the film, Mahesh Babu, the original heir to properties and political legacy, is compelled to renounce everything by signing an agreement. Prakash Raj, a 70-plus head of the family, orchestrates this in the interest of his other heir, played by Rahul Ravindran. The film portrays Rahul Ravindran as an unintelligent individual who is a food-enthusiast undergoing training to speak in Telugu to impress the public. Prakash Raj is concerned that Mahesh Babu might eventually surpass Rahul Ravindra if not subdued. What more is needed to draw comparisons? Mahesh Babu's character resembles Jr NTR, Rahul Ravindra's character resembles Lokesh, and Prakash Raj resembles Chandrababu."
Another netizen wrote, "Trivikram indirectly attacked the TDP family. In a scene featuring Prakash Raj, the protagonist Mahesh Babu remarks that it is better to pass away after reaching the age of 70 than to persist with the hunger for power and politics. Among the top politicians in the Telugu states, none have crossed 70 except for Chandrababu. Despite Trivikram's close association with Pawan Kalyan, an ally of the TDP, he attacked Chandrababu in this manner."
On the other hand, some netizens noted that the plot bears resemblance to that of 'Ala Vaikunthapuramulo.'
"Rahul Ravindra in 'Guntur Kaaram' plays a character similar to Sushanth in 'Ala Vaikunthapuramulo.' Prakash Raj assumes a grandfather role akin to Sachin Khedekar in 'AVPL,' albeit portrayed negatively. Jayaram's character remains the same in both films, acting as a submissive husband behind a strong wife. Ramya Krishna in 'Guntur Kaaram' bears a resemblance to Tabu in 'AVPL.' Trivikram has lost his creative edge, merely reheating the same old dish and adding tasteless masala", mentioned a social media post.
'Guntur Kaaram' failed to captivate the audience as anticipated. The fate of the film at the box office will depend on whether Mahesh Babu's stardom and the Sankranthi season can salvage it.
