Gopichand's previous two films failed to collect a respectable amount of money at the box office. Last year, the film "Pakka Commercial" failed miserably, and this year's "Ramabanam" was also a flop, collecting only about Rs 4 crore in the first week.
With such a slow opening, he should not expect a hefty salary. A producer suggested that he cut his current earnings by at least half, which would reflect his current commercial standing.
Gopichand is surviving solely on the Hindi and non-theatrical rights of his films. Based on this revenue, he is demanding a large sum, despite the fact that his films are failing at the box office.
Gopichand used to have a consistent fan base among the mass audiences. However, it appears that they have lost interest in his films as well.
"Ramabanam" failed to attract any group of audiences.
