Choreographer-director Ganesh Acharya has opened up about the lack of recognition he’s received in Bollywood, stating, “There’s a lot of ego in Bollywood — ego shouldn’t exist.”
In stark contrast, he praised Telugu superstar Allu Arjun for acknowledging his contribution to the Pushpa films. Ganesh recalled Allu Arjun telling him, “People appreciate me because of you.”
“It was the first time someone had ever said that to me,” Ganesh added. “No one in Bollywood has ever called to credit me for their success.”
He went on to commend the South Indian film industry for giving more respect to technicians compared to Bollywood, highlighting the cultural difference in how behind-the-scenes talent is treated.
Ganesh Acharya choreographed the viral hit Oo Antava featuring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in Pushpa: The Rise (2021), and returned to choreograph songs for the 2024 sequel as well.
