The Telangana government has issued a Government Order (GO) with regard to the increase in ticket prices for Game Changer.
It is worth noting that just a few weeks ago, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had stated that no permissions would be granted for benefit shows for films during his tenure.
Standing on to that statement, the permission for midnight benefit show is rejected.
The first point in the GO said, 'The request for screening of benefit show at 1 AM with enhanced rates is rejected'.
As per the GO, for the screenings on January 10th, including an extra show at 4 a.m., an additional charge of Rs. 150 (including GST) will be applicable for multiplex theatres and Rs. 100 (including GST) for single-screen theatres, based on the existing rates.
For the period from January 11th to January 19th (for a total of 9 days), five shows can be screened, with an extra charge of Rs. 100 (including GST) for multiplex theatres and Rs. 50 (including GST) for single-screen theatres, over the prevailing rates.
However, the increase in prices is much lower compared to what was approved for Pushpa 2 – The Rule. We need to see how far the film would benefit with these figures.
