Friday Fight: Priyadarshi's Film Takes the Lead

With multiple films hitting theaters every Friday, most are struggling to attract attention — even those featuring well-known stars.

Last week saw the release of Kalyan Ram’s Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi and Tamannaah’s Odela 2, but neither made a significant impact at the box office.

While Arjun S/O Vyjayanthi had a slightly better opening than Odela 2, it failed to pick up momentum over the weekend.

Other recent releases, including Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s Jack and Nithiin’s Robinhood, also underperformed. Since Court, starring Priyadarshi, no film has managed to succeed commercially.

This weekend, all eyes are once again on Priyadarshi, who returns in the lead role in Sarangapani Jathakam, a comedy directed by Indraganti Mohanakrishna.

Despite the director’s recent setback, the film has generated decent buzz, mainly due to Priyadarshi’s rising popularity as a lead actor.

It’s the only Friday release with noticeable traction, though its success will ultimately depend on audience reception and word-of-mouth.

The other two releases this weekend are Chaurya Paatam, produced by Nakkina Trinadha Rao, and a dubbed film titled Gymkhana.
