Gangs of Godavari, starring Vishwak Sen, along with two other films—Bhaje Bhaje Vaayu Vegam and Gam Gam Ganesha—hit theaters on May 31st. Among these, Vishwak Sen's film had a strong opening.

The second weekend brought competition from films such as Manamey, further diminishing its prospects.
Overall, the movie is a flop.
