February Releases: Struggle To Generate Buzz

February Releases: Struggle To Generate Buzz

February seems to be a dull month for Telugu cinema, with none of the upcoming films managing to create significant pre-release buzz.

Starting with Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, set to release on February 7th. Despite a pre-release event, the film hasn’t generated the expected hype.

The star power of Sai Pallavi might help with initial openings, but ultimately, the content will have to do the talking. As of now, excitement around the film remains lukewarm.

Next up is Laila, featuring Vishwak Sen, slated for a Valentine’s Day release on February 14th. Although targeting the youth, with songs and teasers already out, the film hasn’t sparked strong interest.

Its appeal seems limited to Vishwak’s core fanbase, and its opening will heavily depend on their turnout.

Bhairavam, starring Bellamkonda Srinivas, Nara Rohith, and Manchu Manoj, also struggles to gain traction. Despite teasers and trailers, the film hasn’t captured much public attention. It is set to release on 21 Feb.

Mazaka is another film starring Sundeep Kishan that was expected to generate some traction, but that hasn’t materialized.

Directed by Nakkina Trinadha Rao, who previously delivered a hit with Dhamaka, the film had potential to build hype, but didn't.

Although the director’s controversial speech at a recent promotional event grabbed attention, it didn’t translate into increased buzz for the film.

As of now, there’s little anticipation surrounding Mazaka, with no significant signs of audience excitement. It is set to release on Feb 21.

Kiran Abbavaram’s Dilruba faces similar challenges. The teaser failed to impress, appearing clichéd and lacking freshness.

Even after his recent success with Ka, expectations haven’t translated into buzz. This is also set for Feb 28 as of now.

Overall, February’s releases lack the momentum needed for strong openings. Whether these films can turn things around closer to release remains to be seen.
