The current scenario is not right for a medium-range or big hero movie to get a release in the theaters.
As mounting financial pressure, the producers are closing deals with OTT companies for direct-release.
Nani – director Shiva Nirvana’s upcoming movie “Tuck Jagadish” had closed a deal with a leading streaming player.
Here is our exclusive: The makers inked a handsome deal with the streaming company for Rs 37 crore, a much better amount than what Nani’s previous movie “V” had received. The film will directly premiere on this OTT platform in the coming months.
The producers have already sold the film’s satellite rights to Star MAA. The Hindi dubbing rights and music rights have also fetched good money. Altogether, the film has done more than Rs 50 crore business.
Producers Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi have made the film on a modest budget. Large amounts pad as part of the ‘interests’ has reduced their profits. So, the profits will be in the normal range for the producers even though it had done extraordinary business.
Considering the current situation in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the makers have taken a wise decision of not waiting for the theaters.
“Tuck Jagadish” has Nani, Ritu Varma, Jagapathi Babu, and Aishwarya Rajesh in the lead roles. The film is directed by Shiva Nirvana.
