Director Prasanth Varma who has been attempting different genres creates a universe of superheroes and the first movie Hanu-Man starring Teja Sajja is in the post-production stages.
The director in his exclusive interview with us informs Hanu-Man will be a visual extravaganza.
“The movie Hanu-Man will have a total of 1600 VFX shots. The work on 800 shots was completed. I wanted to give the best of the best experience to the audience. We have spent 10 Cr just on the VFX part.”
Prasanth says the budget has been increased as they changed their plans.
“We initially planned to make it as a Telugu movie. Then, a Bollywood distributor offered a huge price to release it in Hindi. Then, we got big offers from other languages. After the release of the teaser, we got emails from China, Japan, and Korea. We got a big deal for the Nepal release. So, the budget has also been increased accordingly.”
Prasanth clarifies Hanu-Man has no connection with Adipurush and the movie is not completely a mythological one.
“Hanu-Man is a sci-fi entertainer set in the present day. It’s a movie with mythological references. The superpowers of Hanuman are transferred to the protagonist. How he utilizes those powers is the main story. Teja Sajja look apt in the underdog character.”
The director has plans of making 8 movies in superhero genre.
“We so far created 8 superheroes. We have Adheera, after Hanu-Man with Danayya’s son. It’s inspired by Indra’s character. I won’t direct all of them. I want others to continue this franchise. I want to explore other genres. I’ve been studying Hollywood style. I’m trying to adopt it. During the post-production of Hanu-Man, we’re working on other scripts simultaneously. We are going to build a force of 100 people to build this universe. I will supervise it.”
