The dispute over the Liger dues connected to Double iSmart seems to be continuing and is likely to continue until the last minute.
It appears that the issue will be resolved at the last moment, clearing the way for the film’s release.
Reportedly, the Liger dues amount to around ₹16 crores. Producer Charmee has stepped forward, offering to pay up to 40% of this amount. Many distributors seems to have agreed for this settlement.
However, there's a twist here. Charmme appears to be saying that the 40% will not be paid now but only after the film's release.
The creditors are not accepting this condition. They are concerned that there is no guarantee the dues will be paid even after the film is released, given the ongoing struggles.
Those awaiting their dues are urging wholesale buyer Niranjan Reddy to act as a guarantor. It remains to be seen whether Niranjan Reddy will agree to this. So, for now, the problem persists.
While this situation is prevalent in many areas, there is a strong stance in East Godavari. Unless the dues are paid in full, they are adamant that they will not allow even the movie posters to be displayed in the district.
Perhaps by Monday, the issue of the Liger dues may be resolved.
Otherwise, the effort to release the film might continue until Wednesday, with a strategy of releasing it only in multiplexes, ignoring the exhibitors.
