Distributor Says All Hit Figures Are Lies

Distributor Says All Hit Figures Are Lies

Senior film distributor L Venkateswara Rao (LVR) from West Godavari has made a sensational revelation.

He claimed that no distributor has earned a commission in the past two years, except for the film Sankranthi, which brought him some returns.

He clearly stated that no film has been a hit substantial enough to generate distributor commissions during this period.

However, he added that distributors cannot openly admit this, as doing so might result in producers refusing to give them films for distribution in the future.

Despite numerous big, medium, and small films being declared hits over the last two years—with huge box office numbers, flashy posters, and extensive advertisements—LVR insists these claims are misleading.

He revealed that distributors are often forced to pretend they've made profits even when incurring losses, just to maintain good relations with producers.

LVR also disclosed that district-level collection figures have been manipulated, with buyers being kept in the dark.

He expressed frustration over the lack of transparency, stating that distributors are powerless to challenge the system.

Addressing the issue, producer Dil Raju urged journalists to question producers about the suppression of true box office collections.

He emphasized that while distributors and industry insiders must remain diplomatic, the media should take the lead in exposing these practices.
