Nayanthara recently found herself in legal trouble after Tamil superstar Dhanush sent her a notice over the use of behind-the-scenes (BTS) footage from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.
Responding to the legal notice, Nayanthara penned a scathing letter accusing Dhanush of being "vile" and targeting her and her partner, filmmaker Vignesh Shivan.
Amid the controversy, Nayanthara unveiled the first look of her next film, just a day before her birthday, featuring her in a commanding pose with the tagline, "She declares a war!"
She captioned the poster with, "A WAR ON THE BEASTS," which has fueled speculation that the "beast" refers to Dhanush.
Fans reacted to the post, with one writing, "D is ready for war. If you have guts, face it legally," while another commented, "No matter the criticisms or failures, Lady Superstar Nayanthara reigns supreme. Keep rocking!"
Others pointed out the chaos surrounding her feud with Dhanush, calling it "unfortunate."
Nayanthara's open letter to Dhanush detailed her disappointment over the legal notice, which demands ₹10 crore for the use of a three-second clip in the documentary.
Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale, set to release on November 18, celebrates her illustrious career and her role as a trailblazer in the Indian film industry.
The documentary offers insights into her work ethic and personal journey, featuring accounts from friends and colleagues, including Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, and Nagarjuna Akkineni, as well as her family and husband Vignesh Shivan.
It promises to showcase her transformation as an artist, daughter, sister, wife, and mother.
