Dhanush and Nayanthara, despite collaborating on multiple films, are reportedly not on good terms.
Their strained relationship is said to stem from financial losses Dhanush incurred while producing the film Naanum Rowdy Thaan, which starred Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi and was directed by Vignesh Sivan.
Although the film was a hit, Dhanush reportedly lost money due to Vignesh Sivan exceeding the budget. This situation allegedly worsened after Vignesh married Nayanthara.
The tension became public nearly nine years after the film's release when Nayanthara accused Dhanush in an Instagram post of holding a long-standing grudge and seeking revenge against her and her husband.
In her detailed letter, she made several allegations that significantly affected Dhanush's public image.
In response, the president of Dhanush’s fan club stated that the actor would issue a strong reply to counter Nayanthara’s claims.
The controversy has since become a hot topic on social media.
