On January 17, 2022, actor Dhanush announced on social media that he and Aishwarya Rajinikanth were separating after 18 years of marriage, and they had officially filed for divorce at the Chennai family court.
Dhanush and Aishwarya were considered a perfect couple, but the reasons for their separation were not disclosed. However, in a revealing interview, singer Suchitra made some shocking claims.
During her interview with the YouTube channel Kumudam, Suchitra discussed scandals involving the couple, alleging that Dhanush and Aishwarya had both been unfaithful throughout their marriage.
Suchitra, who has had a contentious relationship with Dhanush, also claimed that the estranged couple would go on dates with other people and criticized Aishwarya's parenting while praising Dhanush as a devoted father.
She stated, “Aishwaryaa is accusing Dhanush of cheating on her, but she has done the same throughout their marriage. Isn't that a double standard? Aishwaryaa and Dhanush have both cheated on each other. They've been systematically unfaithful to each other."
“They've had brief affairs. They've sat at the bar and had drinks with the people they were dating," the singer added. When the host mentioned that going on dates is normal, Suchitra countered, “When you’re in a marriage, will you go on a date?”
Last month, Dhanush and Aishwarya filed for a mutual divorce.
According to a source quoted by media, “They have officially filed for divorce in Chennai. Since their separation, they have not been living together and have been focusing on healing from the split. Now, they feel the need to move on in life, which is why they filed for divorce."
