It is well-known that the budgets of big films are often inflated due to the hefty remunerations of the star cast.
Beyond that, producers also have to cover the costs of their paraphernalia, including assistants, makeup artists, and more.
Setting that aside, here’s some information about the remunerations paid to various actors for the film Devara, which has been circulating in Film Nagar as an authentic report from allegedly reliable sources.
Jr NTR received Rs 45 crore for his role in SS Rajamouli's RRR. For Devara, the actor reportedly negotiated a 33% increase in his remuneration compared to his previous film, with sources suggesting that he charged a staggering Rs 60 crore.
Janhvi Kapoor, who initially agreed to a fee of Rs 3.5 crore for the project, saw her paycheck rise to Rs 5 crore towards the end.
Saif Ali Khan was compensated with Rs 10 crore for portraying the film's antagonist. Veteran actor Prakash Raj earned Rs 1.5 crore for his role.
Actor Srikanth received Rs 50 lakh, while Murali Sharma and Narain were each paid Rs 40 lakh. Kalaiyarasan, another actor secured Rs 25 lakh.
However, as mentioned earlier, the costs don’t stop there. The assistants of all these actors must also be paid separately, which adds a few more crores to the overall budget.
Considering the remunerations of other big stars in Tollywood, Jr NTR's fee does seem reasonable given his charisma and pan-India appeal after RRR.
