Devara (Hindi) Suffers Major Drop in Third Week

Devara (Hindi) faced a significant setback in its third weekend, collecting just 1.25 crore nett, signaling that the third week’s total might not even reach 2 crore nett. As a result, the film is unlikely to hit the 60 crore nett milestone.

While there isn't much difference between 55 crore and 60 crore nett, the higher number would have given the film a better appearance on paper.

The sharp drop, an 85% decline, was expected with new competition entering the market, particularly since Devara didn’t resonate strongly in major circuits. However, the scale of the drop was larger than anticipated.

The film performed better in the Nizam/Andhra regions, benefiting from the Dussehra holiday, and is likely to end on a positive note in these areas. Outside of these markets, though, the performance has been less favorable.

While Devara isn’t comparable to Kalki 2898 AD, it’s better aligned with Saaho (2019), though it’s unlikely to reach Saaho’s numbers, either domestically or globally.

Saaho grossed approximately 300 crore nett in India, whereas Devara is expected to close around 275 crore nett. Despite doing better in its home market of Nizam/Andhra, the gap in Hindi collections is significant—Saaho grossed almost 100 crore nett more in Hindi.

So far, Devara has reached a worldwide total of 380-385 crore, and it may hit the 400 crore mark by the end of its run.
