'Devara' Event Canceled: Failure Of Organizers

The pre-release event of the movie Devara has been canceled. Thousands of fans traveled from across both states, making it impossible to manage the crowd.

After two to three hours of chaos, the decision was made to cancel the event.

At five o'clock in the evening, bouncers and police closed most entry points, leaving many people outside. Meanwhile, countless fans were already inside.

As more people gathered, they surged toward the stage, and there was literally no room for celebrities to come. Efforts to disperse them proved futile, and after considerable struggle, the police ultimately gave up.

The damage to the Novotel’s property was so severe that they concluded that they cannot host the event any more.

Despite the situation, there the organizers still thought to hold the pre-release event, even though it was late.

Initially, they tried to send the fans waiting outside back home, but no one left. Although they announced that the event was canceled, the message did not reach the crowd.

Faced with these challenges, organizers finally decided it was no longer possible to proceed with the event.

A recurring issue at events is the distribution of passes exceeding capacity, and this time was no different. There were many reports that too many passes were issued.

Everyone inside had come with passes, while those outside were also pass holders. This raises the question- why were so many passes given out?

Such scenarios seem to play out at every event. The police often have to intervene, calling organizers and event management to address the chaos.

After some back-and-forth, order is usually restored, but fans often end up frustrated. It’s a cycle that continues to repeat.
