"Devara" has officially completed its first week at the Indian box office. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the immense fan base of Jr NTR has kept the film's momentum strong.
Released in theatres on September 27, 2024, "Devara" marks Jr NTR's return to the big screen after "RRR" (2022).
It achieved the second-highest Indian opening of 2024, following only "Kalki 2898 AD." However, mixed word-of-mouth feedback led to a notable drop in its performance as the first week progressed.
According to early estimates, "Devara" collected between ₹7-7.25 crores across all languages on Thursday, marking a 65% dip from the ₹21 crores earned on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.
In its first six days, this action-packed thriller has earned Rs 208 crore in India, and early estimates suggest that it will wrap up its opening week with net domestic earnings around Rs 215 crore.
With the Durga Puja festivities approaching, there is hope that theatre occupancy will increase.
In addition to Jr NTR, the film's supporting cast includes Shruti Marathe, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Narain, Kalaiyarasan, and Murali Sharma.
Directed by Koratala Siva, the film is co-produced by Yuvasudha Arts and N. T. R. Arts.
