The much-hyped 'Devara Part 1' was released amidst huge fanfare yesterday. The collections were impressive, with throngs of fans everywhere from the midnight premieres.
However, on the second day, a drop of 51% was observed in India, while in the USA, the drop is almost 30%.
According to early trends, the Day 2 gross collections in India are reported to be ₹47.2 crore, while on the first day, it was ₹97.35 crore.
It is common to see some drop on the second day for any film, but generally, the second-day collections in the USA show higher numbers as it falls on the weekend. Still, on the second day of release, a significant drop of 30% was noticed in the USA.
Coming to Hindi version it is encouraging to see an increase of collection from Day 1 (Rs 8.85 Cr) to Day 2 (10.62 Cr gross) in India.
Overall, after the second day, the total gross collection in India is ₹144.55 crore.
We will have to see how the collections fare in the coming days, which not only include the weekend but also the Dasara season starting next week.
Regarding North America (USA and Canada) performance, the film is aiming for a gross of $600K to $700K. However, the trend indicating a 30% drop compared to Day 1 raises some concerns for long-term performance.
