It looks like decks are cleared for the BJP MP G V L Narasimha Rao to enter into the Central cabinet in the next reshuffle.
Narasimha Rao, the BJP leader from Andhra Pradesh is the Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh since March 2018.
After Venkaiah Naidu’s elevation as Vice-President, there is no representation for Andhra Pradesh in the Central government.
The BJP leadership is planning to have the party spokesman in the Cabinet giving due representation to the State.
The top leadership of the party is understandably comfortable with Narasimha Rao representing the party views in the media as the party spokesman.
It is also said that GVL had won the hearts of the party top leadership in defending the party line particularly on controversial issues.
Sources say that the issue of taking GVL into the cabinet in the next expansion was raised during the hour-long talks between Amit Shah and Jagan Mohan Reddy on Thursday evening.
It is also said that Jagan Mohan Reddy had raised no objection to the GVL’s candidature, who has clarity on political and administrative issues, better than the contemporary leaders in the BJP.
With Jagan Mohan Reddy too giving his nod, it is for certain that GVL get into the Central cabinet once Prime Minister Narendra Modi reshuffles.
