Dear Uma Trailer: Not Just A Love Story

The multi-talented Sumaya Reddy, who not only plays the lead but also shoulders the forthcoming venture Dear Uma as its story writer and producer.

Prithvi Amber plays the male lead in the movie directed by Sai Rajesh Mahadev on Suma Chitra Arts banner. After creating interest with teaser, songs, and other promos, the makers today came up with its trailer.

The trailer kicks off with Sumaya spotting untapped brilliance in Prithvi, a struggling singer. As his fortunes shift, he credits her: “Luck walked into my life the moment I met my angel.”

While Prithvi finds the spotlight, Sumaya sets her sights on becoming a doctor. But just as things start aligning, Prithvi suffers a brutal injury. The aftermath awakens something wild in him.

The trailer also takes a bold stand on corporate control, with Kamal Kamaraju delivering a standout line: “Everything's been swallowed up by corporate giants — from water to healthcare.”

On the whole, it’s not just a love story. It’s a layered narrative that raises big questions. Writer and lead actress Sumaya Reddy shines, both on paper and on screen.

Sai Rajesh Mahadev directs with sensitivity, and Prithvi Amber holds his own with a nuanced performance. Their chemistry is palpable.

With lush cinematography by Raj Thota and a soul-stirring score by Radhan, the trailer does more than build hype. It promises substance.

The film releases on the 18th of this month, and expectations are already high.
