NTR’s Devara posted massive collections on its first day in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and North America, once again proving NTR’s box office power.
However, NTR aimed to demonstrate his popularity in North India with this film, but he did not achieve the expected results.
Despite being the next release after RRR, which grossed nearly Rs 300 crore in North India, Devara did not have a strong opening in the Hindi market on its first day.
The Hindi version collected only Rs 7 crore nett in the Indian domestic market on day 1, which is quite low for a film that was highly anticipated and featured big names like NTR, Janhvi Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan.
However, there are examples like Pushpa, which started slow but eventually became a massive hit. Whether Devara will follow a similar trajectory remains to be seen.
The Tamil and Malayalam versions of the film also performed poorly, together collecting just Rs 1 crore on the first day.
