The trailer and pre-release event for Robinhood, starring Nithiin and Sreeleela, took place today in Hyderabad with a huge crowd in attendance. The event was made even more special by the presence of star cricketer David Warner.
Director Venky Kudumula, who has previously worked with Nithiin on Bheeshma and as an assistant director on A Aa, expressed his deep affection for the actor, referring to him as his brother.
“Nithiin is a very positive person. The support I’ve received from my producers is unmatched, and this movie has a grander scale than what you see in the trailer. I will always work with the producers of Mythri Movie Makers whenever they call. Sreeleela accepted the film despite her busy schedule. Thanks to Ketika, the movie has already generated a lot of buzz. When I suggested David Warner for a cameo, my producers pursued it seriously, even bringing him here. His role may be small, but it will definitely surprise the audience,” said Venky Kudumula.
Nithiin, on his part, thanked the entire technical team, including music director GV Prakash Kumar for the film’s exceptional music. He also expressed gratitude to his co-stars and spoke highly of Sreeleela.
“This is my second film with Sreeleela, and I hope this movie establishes us as a hit pair. Everyone will love her character. Ketika’s dance in the song 'Surprisu' will make fans go crazy.”
He further praised the producers, calling them the real heroes of the movie.
“Mythri Movie Makers is one of the top production houses in India. They delivered two blockbusters during Pongal, with Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna. They also have several exciting projects lined up, including Jaat, Good Bad Ugly, and a Malayalam film. The love Venky has shown me in this movie is evident. We also thank cricket legend David Warner for his cameo. While his role is brief, it leaves a great impact. For the world, he’s a legend, but for us in Telugu cinema, he’ll always be 'David bhai' or 'Warner mama.'”
David Warner, visibly humbled, expressed his gratitude to the director, the producers, and the cast.
"I’m truly humbled to have been offered the opportunity to participate in this film. Stepping into the film industry was nerve-wracking, but it’s been an amazing privilege and honor. The movie looks absolutely fantastic, and it’s clear that everyone involved has put in tremendous effort. This film is going to be massive," said Warner.
The trailer received an overwhelming response, further heightening the anticipation for Robinhood, which is set to release on March 28th.
