'Daaku Maharaaj'-Hindi: A Colossal Disaster

The Hindi version of Daaku Maharaaj has turned out to be a massive flop, earning a mere Rs10 lakhs in its first two days of release.

Despite featuring Bobby Deol in a prominent role and carrying a Hindi-sounding title aimed at attracting a Hindi belt audience, the film failed to strike a chord.

Interestingly, the film managed to generate some buzz in the Telugu market during its initial days but could not sustain momentum there either.

The Hindi version was expected to boost the Bollywood prospects of Balakrishna, who had banked on Bobby Deol’s presence and the film’s appeal to Hindi-speaking audiences.

However, the lack of interest of Hindi audience on this film has spelled doom for Daaku Maharaaj.

Fans and industry watchers had high hopes that the collaboration between Balakrishna and Bobby Deol, coupled with the national appeal of the title, would open new doors for Balakrishna in Bollywood which would eventually help the business of his next film Akhanda-2.

Unfortunately, the movie has been labeled a colossal disaster, leaving little hope for Balakrishna’s Bollywood aspirations, banked on this.
