Nani is all set to take us to a different world with Dasara which was set in the backdrop of Singareni coal mines near Godavarikhani of Telangana.
From the day it was announced, Dasara has been making huge noise with its intriguing promotional content. While the teaser and trailer got a thumping response, the songs topped the music charts.
Nani in his exclusive interview with greatandhra.com made some interesting revelations about the movie.
The actor says he got a basic idea about Dharani’s look when he first heard the story.
“There’s an animal instinct in the character. He is wild at times and very innocent at other times. Overall, he is unpredictable. We wanted to start the project immediately, but it got delayed by 4 months for me to get ready, in terms of look and all. During the process, small details are incorporated to further tighten things.”
In most of the promotional stuff, Nani was seen consuming a local drink called pavva. The actor discloses that he drank alcohol for some scenes.
“Srikanth is a perfectionist who doesn’t compromise on anything. In some scenes, when I consume the drink, my eyes should become red. We tried non-alcoholic drinks, but we didn’t get the desired result. Then, I had to consume alcohol. If you see a scene in the promo, I drink liquor, drop the bottle on the ground and walk ferociously. My eyes become red immediately, after consuming the drink.”
There have been numerous reports about Keerthy Suresh’s character. However, Nani clarifies saying there’s no suspense element to her character.
“Keerthy’s is a central character. She’s the heart of the movie. But there’s no such suspense thing to the character.”
Nani also reveals a memorable incident during the shoot of the movie. He calls it a nightmare.
“There’s a scene where I had to jump off a dumper truck loaded with coal and the entire stuff falls on me. I consumed a lot of dust until they bring me out of the coal. I had sleepless nights for almost 2 months, because of that incident.”
Nani is pretty confident that the movie will do wonders in other languages too. Watch the video for full interview:
