The film Anni Manchi Sakunamule was supposed to go on floors before Oh Baby. But director Nandini Reddy got the nod from the producers of AMS to make Oh Baby first because it was a time-bound project.
After Oh Baby turned out to be a super hit and when Nandini Reddy planned to resume work on Anni Manchi Sakunamule, the pandemic played the spoilsport. Thus, work came to a complete standstill.
However, the lockdown time was helpful for her to tighten the loose ends of the script. The movie was majorly shot in Coonoor and some part in Europe.
Anni Manchi Sakunamule is set in a fictional city Victoriapuram because the coffee from the city went to Queen Victoria’s notice.
Coffee is not just the story backdrop but a central character in the film. Interestingly, Nandini Reddy never drank coffee.
The movie starring Santosh Sobhan and Malvika Nair is up for release on May 18th.
