This Friday witnessed a flurry of releases, and most of them are small-budgeted movies.
Among these releases, only Akash Puri starrer “Chor Bazaar” and Kiran Abbavaram’s “Sammathame” had taken some traction at the box office.
Of course, none of these movies attracted the audiences nor posted noticeable numbers.
Despite the low turnout, Kiran Abbavaram starrer romantic comedy collected some decent money in Hyderabad and other urban pockets. Akash Puri’s “Chor Bazaar” had collected better in mass centers.
In the Vizag region, “Chor Bazaar” collected better than “Sammathame”. On the first day, “Chor Bazaar” raked in about Rs 40 lakhs in the Telugu states, while “Sammathame” received Rs 50 lakhs. Both films had done pre-release business in the range of Rs 3.5 crore to 4 crore.
The day one collection indicates tough times ahead for these movies.
Other films like “Konda”, “7 Days 6 Nights”, and “Gangster Gagaraju” saw near nil collections.
