Chiranjeevi attended the ANR National Awards event as the Chief Guest and gave away the ANR National Award to veteran Bollywood actress Rekha.
On this occasion Chiranjeevi shared a few of his experiences with ANR. Chiranjeevi recollected his memories of acting with ANR in Mechanic Alludu.
Chiranjeevi also said that his mother Anjana Devi is a big fan of Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
"My mother went to watch one of his films in theater when she was a nine months pregnant. Perhaps that is the reason why I was attracted to cinema industry," he said.

Chiranjeevi said that he admires Rekha a lot that he fondly calls his wife Surekha as Rekha because of that.
"I never told this to my wife too," Chiru said.
He also shared his experiences as Rekha's fellow Rajyasabha member. Chiranjeevi said that Sridevi is the only superstar who kept on acting till her last breath.
