
Megastar Chiranjeevi has been keeping mum on the ongoing controversy surrounding Movie Artists Association (MAA).
Actress Hema recently alleged that irregularities in spending of the funds of the association. She made severe allegations against the current president VK Naresh.
Naresh on Monday met the press and countered the allegations.
As the image of MAA is getting tarnished with the allegations by various members, honourary president Chiranjeevi has stepped in.
He demanded that elections to MAA should be held at the earliest.
If the election process gets delayed, welfare schemes will be affected. Chiranjeevi wrote a letter to senior actor Krishnam Raj, who chairs the visionary committee.
He urged him to take action on those persons who are bringing down the name of the association.
Prakash Raj, Jeevitha, Manchu Vishnu, Hema, and CVL have expressed their intention to run for the president of MAA. However, the notification for the polls has not yet been issued.
Naresh is allegedly postponing the process. Prakash Raj recently warned Naresh not to drag the issue.
