Following their wedding, a section of internet users blamed Sobhita for the actor’s divorce, leading to a wave of online backlash.
In an appearance on the Raw Talks With VK podcast, Naga Chaitanya addressed these speculations, clarifying that Sobhita had no involvement in his separation from Samantha. He explained that his relationship with Sobhita blossomed naturally over time.
"I feel very bad for her. She doesn’t deserve it. She’s not at fault in this matter," said Naga Chaitanya.
"We met in a very organic, beautiful way. It started as a casual chat on social media and gradually grew into a friendship, and then a relationship."
The actor emphasized that Sobhita had no connection to his past with Samantha.
Praising her strength, he said, "She’s truly a hero for me. The way she handled everything with patience and maturity was incredible. It wasn’t easy for her to face all this."
On his divorce from Samantha, Chaitanya shared that their decision to separate was mutual and taken with respect for one another. He urged the media and fans to give them the privacy they had requested.
"We wanted to go our own ways. It was a personal decision made for our own reasons, and we respect each other. I hope the audience and media can respect that too. Unfortunately, it became a headline, a topic of gossip, and a source of entertainment," said the actor.
He also highlighted that both he and Samantha have moved on and are leading happy, independent lives.
"I’ve found love again, and I’m very happy. We both moved on with grace and respect for each other. So why am I being treated like a criminal for making a personal decision?" he asked.
Reflecting on his experience, Chaitanya revealed that he was deeply mindful of the consequences of ending his marriage, particularly given his background.
"It was a very conscious decision taken after much thought and with immense respect for each other," he shared.
"Coming from a broken family, I know what the experience is like. I would think a thousand times before breaking a relationship because I’m aware of the repercussions. But in this case, it was the best decision for everyone involved."
Despite the challenges, the actor maintained a positive outlook.
"It didn’t happen overnight. Of course, I felt bad, but I believe everything happens for a reason. You grow, build yourself, and eventually find the right path. That’s exactly what happened to me," he concluded.
