Tamil superstar Vijay doesn’t get the same frenzy like Suriya or Karthi receive during their releases in Telugu states.
Vijay is yet to deliver a huge hit here but he has successfully managed to create good buzz for ‘Whistle’ and also the film has done a record pre-release business for a Vijay starred dubbed movie.
'Whistle' starring Vijay in a dual role is hitting the screens this Friday (October 25).
Directed by Atlee, it is presented by Mahesh Koneru in the Telugu market. A huge number of screens were given to this movie.
According to trade pundits, ‘Whistle’ has done a pre-release business of Rs 10.5 Cr in Telugu states. That means, to reach the break-even stage, the film has to collect Rs 11 Cr share in the Telugu states.
Since the film’s satellite rights and digital rights were sold off along with the Tamil version, the Telugu presenter would not get any additional benefit.
If ‘Whistle’ succeeds in getting massive openings, it will easily achieve break-even status. But again, this is a big figure for a Tamil star who has not tasted a much success here.
