We watch our films with passion for our stars. But will the northern audience show the same interest in our South Indian actors?
Prabhas is an exception, as he is well accepted across every corner of India. But will this happen for other heroes?
Currently, the promotions for Devara are in full swing, with a core focus on North India.
NTR is stepping into the North belt solo for the first time, and this is his acid test, making success crucial. That’s why NTR’s promotion team has meticulously planned everything.
It is vital for NTR to succeed here, as any failure in gaining traction in the northern belt could affect his career in the long run.
Mumbai plays a key role in the film's promotions: the heroine is from Mumbai, the villain is from Mumbai, the trailer was released in Mumbai, there was an interview with Sandeep Vanga in Mumbai, and NTR appeared on The Kapil Sharma Show in Mumbai. Huge cut-outs are popping up across the city, and the list goes on.
They now need a solid and respectable opening in the North, not just like in the Telugu regions. Numbers are hard to conceal there, and everything is out in the open.
Numbers cannot be manipulated as easily as in the South. Therefore, the movie’s opening must be taken seriously to ensure a strong run.
At this point, a strong foundation needs to be established, and that’s the challenge for NTR.
The differences between the North and South industries should not be visible, and digital teams supporting various stars will play a key role.
If the film receives unanimously positive reviews and becomes a blockbuster, it will perform well in the Hindi belt. But if it’s perceived as average, the situation could be different.
Let’s see what happens in the next two weeks!
