During their investigation into the D. Praneeth Rao snooping case, the police discovered that several police officers had tapped the phones of over 10 prominent Tollywood film actresses, producers, and directors.
However, the investigation officials did not reveal who had instructed the accused officers to carry out the phone tapping within the Tollywood industry.
Sources indicated that some police officers, either directly or indirectly, were involved in extorting money from top Tollywood producers and directors by gathering their financial information through phone tapping.
Allegations suggest that a few of the accused police officers also attempted to blackmail film actresses.
Currently, police teams are investigating the angle of phone tapping within the Tollywood industry and are attempting to obtain statements from the actresses, producers, and directors involved.
