Director Vamshi Paidipally's film "Varisu" had average success and received criticism for its mediocre script and clichéd narrative.
Despite the film's worldwide gross of nearly Rs 300 crore, its collections in Tamil Nadu were lower compared to Ajith's "Thunivu".
"Varisu" did not bring him significant recognition. However, he gained more fame and recognition for his bilingual film "Oopiri" with Karthi and Nagarjuna.
After Mahesh Babu declined the script for "Varisu", Paidipally approached Thalapathy Vijay and secured his approval, leading to the making of the film.
But who will collaborate with him now?
He is seeking to work with another major star for his next film. Currently, all of Telugu's top actors are occupied with multiple projects, making it difficult for Paidipally to secure their involvement.
He is currently considering Allu Arjun or Prabhas, but finds it challenging to persuade heroes.
Despite directing a superstar like Vijay, Paidipally is back to the starting point in his efforts to secure another major project.
