Jio recently launched its own OTT platform called 'JIO CINEMA' and announced a partnership with HBO Max.
As a result, the popular TV series "Succession" from HBO Max is now available on Jio, attracting a significant number of new subscribers. Jio also broadcasted IPL matches on its platform.
The Reliance group is now planning to expand its operations further and directly compete with Netflix and Amazon Prime in India.
According to reliable sources, Reliance Jio is currently in talks to acquire "Aha," the Telugu OTT platform launched by My Home Group and Allu Aravind.
"Aha" has gained a considerable following in the Telugu states. This acquisition will help Jio Cinema gain a substantial number of subscribers and will also benefit My Home Group, which has been facing challenges in the media business.
If the agreement is reached, "Aha" will be integrated into Jio Cinema.
