Mahesh Babu's upcoming film Sarileru Neekevvaru is going to clash with another biggie Ala Vaikunthapuramulo for Sankranthi.
Both the movies will release within a gap of two days, which leaves little space for buyers to cash in on. Overseas territory is going to put a big test for buyers as both the films will have big release.
Despite competition, Sarileru Neekevvaru fetched superb price for its overseas rights.
According to our source a top distributor has bought the overseas rights of Sarileru Neekevvaru for Rs. 13.5 Crore. This is huge considering the recent lull in overseas business.
It is nearly Rs. 5 crore more than what Ala Vaikuntapuramulo was sold for. This is one of the strongest areas of Mahesh Babu, but this price is whopping considering the competition and recent downward trend of Telugu cinema business in North America.
Mahesh's previous film Maharshi has done well in the domestic circuit, but ended up as a loss venture overseas. It didn't even reach $2 Million mark while Bharat Ane Nenu collected around $3.5 Million.
However, Anil Ravipudi's track record and Dil Raju's record for Sankranthi also added to the craze and expectations on Sarileru Neekevvaru.
