It is widely believed that "Lagaan" was a massive success at the box office during those days, and many do not even recall Sunny Deol's "Gadar" in comparison.
However, the surprising fact that may leave people wondering is that "Lagaan" actually had significantly lower collections compared to "Gadar."
Sunny Deol himself revealed this during the promotions of "Gadar 2." He stated, "Gadar's business was so much more significant that 'Lagaan' probably didn't even achieve 2 to 5 percent of its earnings."
Interestingly, Sunny admitted that he hasn't seen the film "Lagaan" yet. Now, Sunny's film "Gadar 2" is set to clash with Akshay Kumar's "OMG 2," both scheduled for release on August 11.
In "Gadar 2," Sunny stars alongside Ameesha Patel, while Akshay shares the screen with Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam in "OMG 2."
