BAFTA 2023: No Nomination For RRR

The British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) announced the nominations for this year's awards on Thursday evening.

While SS Rajamouli's RRR did not make it to the final slate for the Best Film Not In The English Language category, Shaunak Sen's All That Breathes was nominated in the Best Documentary category.

The other nominees in the category include All Quiet on the Western Front, Argentina, 1985, Corsage, Decision To Leave, and The Quiet Girl.

The BAFTAs will take place on February 19th and will be hosted by Richard E Grant and Alison Hammond.

Despite not being nominated for a BAFTA, RRR has received recognition from other award shows.

The film was nominated for 2 categories at the Golden Globes, winning for Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu. It also won Best Director at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards, and two big prizes at the Critics Choice Awards - Best Foreign Film and Best Song.

RRR stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, with Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, and Ray Stevenson also in the cast.

The film, set in the 1920s, is a fictional story based on the lives of two legendary freedom fighters, Alluri Seetharamaraju and Komaram Bheem.
