YSR Congress party on Monday wondered why Telugu Desam Party president and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu was on cloud nine after meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav meeting.
“What is there to feel so jubilant, if Modi had a five-minute talk with Naidu? Why is so much euphoric publicity by the yellow media for that brief meeting? It clearly shows how low Naidu and his yellow media stooped to gain cheap publicity,” said YSRC leader and government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy.
He reminded that chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had spent more than an hour, along with two other chief ministers, at the dining table with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“Many issues were discussed at the luncheon meeting. Yet, Jagan did not seek any publicity over the same,” he reminded.
Stating that Naidu is suffering from severe insecurity feeling, Sajjala said that was the reason why the TDP chief sought to gain publicity for his five-minute chat with Modi. It is quite common after every meeting that the Prime Minister comes to every participant to greet him or her. Modi and Naidu might have talked anything, he reasoned.
“Naidu might have said Modi had given only a pot of soil for Amaravati but no money. Modi might have said Naidu had abused him in the past, but was trying for patch up again. But the yellow media sought to project as if Modi has requested Naidu’s appointment. One newspaper quoted Modi telling Naidu: “This is your house; you can walk it anytime.” Is it not stooping down to a low-level?” Sajjala asked.
He alleged that Naidu was still trying to get the support from the BJP, but he is not admitting the same.
“He is giving a build up as if the BJP itself is running after the TDP to seek its help in Telangana. So, it appears Naidu is bargaining with the BJP for a help in Andhra Pradesh in lieu of the TDP-Jana Sena support to the BJP in Andhra Pradesh,” Sajjala added.
