Ravi Teja, Ram Pothineni and Chiyaan Vikram are heroes who are desperately awaiting a hit, as they have had no successes in recent times.
There has been no hit for Ravi Teja since 'Dhamaka' that was released in 2022. His recent films, ‘Tiger Nageshwar Rao’ and ‘Eagle,’ were colossal duds at the box office. Now, he has pinned his hopes on Harish Shankar's directorial 'Mr. Bachchan,' which is a remake of the Hindi film 'Raid.'
As for Ram Pothineni, his last hit was 'iSmart Shankar,' which came out in the pre-COVID era of 2019. Since then, all his films—Red, The Warrior and Skanda—have been major box office disasters. Now, he is returning with the sequel to his only hit franchise, 'Double iSmart,' directed by Puri Jagannath, after five years.
Next is Chiyaan Vikram, whose last solo hit was Shankar's "I," released in 2015. Since then, he has faced flops with eight films. However, he was fortunate to be part of "Ponniyin Selvan," though that was not his solo hit, as it was a multi-starrer. Technically, if the new Pa. Ranjith film "Thangalaan" performs well at the box office, it could be considered his first solo hit in almost a decade.
Thus, all three heroes are eagerly awaiting success and are set to appear in theaters on the same day tommorow on August 15.
While it is Independence Day for all Indians, these heroes also seek independence from their 'flop track record.' Let us wish them the freedom they desire.
